Skin-Like Surface for Watch Band
When working with TPU and silicone, venting is crucial to avoid defects like bubbles. Our molds feature specialized venting grooves to ensure a smooth, bubble-free product. We also apply a mirror EDM finish (RA0.2) to the cavity, making it very smooth and ensuring that the product releases easily and does not stick. For instance, we made a silicone watch band mold for a smart band client. The band was soft and required a skin-friendly feel. By using EDM to achieve a high finish, the final product had a texture similar to baby skin, and the client was highly satisfied with the result.
